Research Notes: To Do: Further research is needed regarding the following apparently inconclusive information:

The following books - include a discussion of Thomas Newberry's possible ancestors - possibly tracing back as far as William the Conqueror (reign 1066-1087) - see notes [*1] & [*2] below:

(i) "Newberry Genealogy: The Ancestors and Descendants of Thomas Newberry, of Dorchester, Mass., 1634 : 920-1914" (1914) by J. G. Bartlett.
(ii) "Encyclopedia of Connecticut biography, genealogical-memorial; representative citizens" (1917) (Volume 2 - pages 156-159) by J. G. Bartlett.
(iii) "Genealogical Notes on the Founding of New England: My Ancestors Part in that Undertaking" (1926) by Ernest Flagg.
(iv) "The Cooley Genealogy: The Descendants of Ensign Benjamin Cooley, an Early Settler of Springfield and Longmeadow, Massachusetts; and Other Members of the Family in America" (1941) by Cooley & Keatley (page 461).

Notes
:
[*1] The more recent book "The Newberry Genealogy" (1975) by H.B.J. Lee - may include an updated discussion of the Newberry ancestry.
[*2] The following book does not include Thomas Newberry/Newbury in the name index: "The Royal Descents of 600 Immigrants to the American Colonies or the United States Who Were Themselves Notable or Left Descendants Notable in American History. With a 2008 Addendum, Coda, and Final Addition" (2008 - 2 volumes) by Gary Boyd Roberts.
However, Thomas Newberry/Newbury & Joanne Dabinott's son Benjamin Newberry is listed as the husband of Mary Allyn - who was apparently a descendant of Henry I, King of England (died 1135).

Other notes:

(1) A Monument was erected in memory of the Founders of Windsor, Connecticut (located near the old First Church of Windsor) - and bears the following inscription:
"To the Founders of Windsor and the First Congregational Church in Connecticut, which came to America in the Mary and John with its Pastor - John Warham, May 30, 1630, settled in Dorchester, Massachusetts and Migrated to Windsor in May and October 1635"
The list of names includes "Thomas Newberry" [Thomas was living in Dorchester, Massachusetts as early as 1634 and was latterly one of the early settlers of Windsor, Connecticut].

(2) Thomas Newberry/Newbury & Joanne Dabinott (1st wife) were ancestors of:
(i) Oliver Wolcott (1726-1797) - Signer of U.S. Declaration of Independence - 1776 & 4th State Governor of Connecticut.
