(i) To identify Charles' ancestry.
A possible match for Charles's parents is as follows - a Catherine died in Kildare/Rawdon, Quebec in 1852 in the 84th year of her age or thereabout - and she is listed as the relict of the late John Huston, of Kildare, farmer. Witnesses included Charles Huston.
The 1824 Church registry entry for Charles's first marriage to Catherine Macklem/McKelm - includes Charles's Uncle Richard Henry as a witness.
(ii) To identify the location of Charles's burial - likely in the Keppel, Grey, Ontario area.
(iii) To identify the names of Charles's children by his first wife Catherine Macklem.
(iv) To determine if Charles was related to his mother-in-law Elizabeth Huston through the Huston family of Monaghan, Ireland.
(v) To determine if Charles was related to the Sam Houston (1793-1863) & family of Houston, Texas. Sam's ancestors were also from North Ireland - and prior to that from Scotland.
(vi) Information regarding possible other daughter(s) of Charles Huston & Elizabeth Dawson (a) St. John's Anglican Church registry entry - Margaret Jane [Huston] daughter of Charles & Elizabeth Huston died 22 Jan. 1868 and buried 23 Jan. 1868. Either Margaret Jane was born after the 1861 Census or her name was actually "Elizabeth" who apparently died in 1868. (b) The 1861 Census for Kildare, Quebec lists a daughter Elizabeth born about 1859 and the 1962 Dawson-Huston Family Tree (by Wallace Dawson) lists an Elizabeth born in 1848. Either there were two Elizabeths or one was actually the "Margaret Jane" mentioned above or the 1861 Census and/or the 1962 Family Tree include incorrect information regarding Elizabeth's year of birth.

Charles "probably" married Catherine MACKLEM/MCKELM ⁸⁶ on 25 Aug 1824 in Anglican Church, Quebec City, Quebec.⁸⁷ Catherine was born from about 1795 to 1796,⁸⁶ died on 17 Jan 1845 in Kildare, Quebec⁸⁸ aged about 49, and was buried on 19 Jan 1845 in St. John's Anglican Church Cemetery, Kildare, Quebec, Canada.⁸⁹

The Church registry entry for Catherine's marriage in 1824 to Charles Huston - indicates that at the time of their marriage Catherine was of the City of Quebec.

A memorial gravestone (located in the St. John's Angican Cemetery, Kildare, Quebec) - bears the following inscription:
"Sacred to the Memory of CATHERINE MACKLEM, Wife of CHARLES HUSTON, DIED Jan 17, 1845, Æ. 50 YEARS … "
