The bronze statue of Robert "the Bruce", King of Scotland
(d.1329) was added in 1929 to the façade on the left side of the
entrance to Edinburgh Castle.

Stirling Castle - the statue of Robert “the Bruce”, King of
Scotland (d.1329) was erected in 1876 at Stirling Castle. The
statue faces South towards the location of the 1314 Battle of
Bannockburn.
Bannockburn, Stirling - there is also an Equestrian Statue of
King Robert “the Bruce” nearby in Bannockburn, Stirling that was
erected in 1964 to commemorate the 650th Anniversary of the 1314
Battle of Bannockburn.
Calgary, Canada - in 1967 a replica of the Equestrian Statue in
Bannockburn was erected in Calgary near the Jubilee Auditorium
and the Alberta University of the Arts.

The Coronation of Robert II Stewart, King of Scotland took place
in 1371 -
1st of the Stewart/Stuart Kings & Queens of Scotland and
later also of England & Ireland.
King Robert II was born in 1316 at Paisley Abbey. Six
generations of his paternal ancestors & their wives (the 1st
six High Stewards of Scotland) & his son (John) Robert III
Stewart, King of Scotland were all buried in Paisley Abbey.
King Robert II died in 1390 and was buried in Scone Abbey.
Archaeological investigations through 2009 have identified the
location and layout of the former Scone Abbey - east of Scone
Palace - and south of Moot (or Boot) Hill the Coronation site of
Scottish Kings for Centuries.

In July - the City of Edinburgh hosted the “world’s largest”
Clan Gathering celebration for all the Scottish Family Clans
with 47,000 people attending from around the world. The main
venue was in Holyrood Park beside Holyrood Palace: - 100 Clan
Tents, 75 Clan Chiefs, Highland Games, Scottish Food, Scottish
Music, Bag Pipe Bands, Scottish Whisky, …
Other events/activities included an emotional Clan Parade up the
“Royal Mile” (from Holyrood Palace to Edinburgh Castle – with
Pipe Bands, 8,000 participants and 20,000 spectators) - this was
followed by an entertaining show on the History of the Clans.
