Statues of Tancred of Hauteville (Founder of the House of
Hauteville) and six of his twelve sons adorn the North Façade of
the Cathedral of Coutances.
The Statue of Tancred of Hauteville, Hereditary seigneur de
Hauteville-le-Guichard (near Coutances, Normandy) (d.1041) (far
right side) and his son Robert "Guiscard" of Hauteville, Duke of
Apulia, Calabria and Sicily (d.1085) (far left side).

Sicily (d.1085) [House of Hauteville].
Montecassino Abbey (Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta e San
Benedetto Abate) was built in 529 on the site of a pagan temple
and was enlarged over the centuries. During WWII the Abbey
sustained serious damage and was subsequently rebuilt and
consecrated by Pope Paul VI in 1964.
